While he may be a sophomore on a young team, Dilyn Fuller made quite a splash a season ago and is a name people will need to know in the future. The Anderson High School defensive lineman began playing the game in kindergarten and was a quarterback until the eighth grade when he transferred to Anderson. For the last two years, he has played defensive end and has punished opposing quarterbacks and ball carriers. As a freshman last year, he made an immediate impact that he looks to build off of this fall. “I am surprised by my success because I just started playing defensive end two years ago, but I am a hard worker and it’s paying off. I have to attribute all of my success to my mother. She’s worked hard for my younger brother and I, and she deserves the world,” Fuller told Sideline Prep Sports Report. A season ago, the Indians went 1-9 under veteran coach Ron Qualls. Fuller is confident 2020 could be a magical season for Anderson. “I play for a young, but very talented team. One of the main goals I have for this team is to win more games than we did last year. We battled with some really good teams but couldn’t finish. One of my goals the upcoming season is to record over 10 sacks. I also want to become more of a leader for the younger kids on the football team,” Fuller said. He has drawn some attention from around the state as both Indiana and Purdue have reached out. “Being a freshman and the spring cut short, it has been more difficult, but I am very optimistic about my current recruiting situation. I am looking for a school that will treat me like family and will have that home away from home feeling and is also a school with great academics,” Fuller said.
