As a three-sport athlete, Kolby Knox knows all about dedication, sacrifice and time management. The West Noble High School quarterback learned those lessons at a very early age, playing football at 5 and has adhered to them ever since. “I started playing football around the age of 5, and I haven’t looked back since. I love the competitiveness of the sport, and it is by far my favorite sport out of the three that I play,” Knox told Sideline Prep Sports Report. A season ago, Knox and his West Noble teammates went a perfect 9-0 in the regular season and finished 10-1, suffering a setback to Mishawaka Marian in the second round of the sectional tournament. He tells Sideline Prep Sports Report that while he is not surprised with his success, he is “grateful.” “I feel like I can compete with the top quarterbacks in the state at a high level. I work hard for anything I achieve day in and day out. Whether that success comes on the field or in the classroom. I attribute my success to my mom for always pushing me to train when others might not be, as well as constantly studying,” Knox said. Knox is hopeful the Chargers can repeat the feat of 2019 this season, but go further. “The team is looking to recreate what we accomplished last year, which was an undefeated regular season record. Personally, my goal is to run our offense with great efficiency, whether that is on the ground or in the air. I am also striving to push my team to a long playoff run,” Knox said. The signal caller currently is not drawing any attention, but he will be a surprise for someone who signs him. He told Sideline Prep Sports Report he is looking for a high level engineering program, a very welcoming coaching staff and a good culture amongst teammates.
